Gill will lead this young team and named as a captain for the series. 

Three Players Y. Jaiswal, S. Samson, and S. Dube to Miss First 2 T20s

Three players from the Indian World Cup-winning team in the West Indies—Y. Jaiswal, S. Samson, and S. Dube—will miss the first two T20s as they will be traveling home first. They are expected to join the team on July 10, 2024. S. Sudharsan, J. Sharma, and H. Rana will replace these three players for the first two T20s.

Young Captain to Lead India Against Zimbabwe

S. Gill will lead the Indian team for the T20 series against Zimbabwe. The committee has also given maiden senior national call-ups to young Indian T20 League stars A. Sharma, D. Jurel, R. Parag, and T. Deshpande. All-rounder N.K. Reddy, who was initially named in the squad, was withdrawn due to an injury. R. Singh, K. Ahmed, and A. Khan will also join the squad starting on July 6th, 2024.
